Introduction Fixation of the acromioclavicular joint with Kirschner wires (K-wire) has been widely used by orthopeadic and trauma surgeons in recent past. Now technique is less common. Migration a common complication being limited to fixation area majority cases can be devastating event rare cases. The objective was explore K-wire migration into spinal canal after repair. Material methods A clinical case broken migrated reported. An unsystematized literature analysis on topic performed. Results discussion routine examination revealed fragment at cervical level 7 years 36-year-old man. pin fragments were removed from site. postoperative period uneventful. good result obtained, wounds healed primary intention. K-wires but severe that lead injury dura mater, cord vertebral artery. There are wire reported outside insertion site: lung, mediastinum, esophagus, spleen, intestines, aorta, heart timing ranging 11 days 12 surgery. Conclusion report review have shown risk when for fractures dislocations. requires dynamic observation patient throughout treatment period. pins should fracture healing or dislocation manipulations minimize K-wires.
